Overview

We are in our 10th week and Lori has come such a long way. Today Lori was off the ventilator for 3 continuous hours and had several talk sessions that went well. The key seemed to be a good night's rest last night and a nap in the middle of the day to sustain her energy level. Tube feeding into the stomach is going well with extra calories. We are hoping that rehab at Shepherd is in our near future. Just a reminder, Lori IS in ICU, and your prayers ARE helpful, needed, and beneficial. Thank you ever so much.

Wow guys! 10 weeks is a long time to be in ICU - I know you are all tired, dedicated, and amazing - which is why Lori shows so many great signs of improvement. We check each and every day to find out her status and to see how her day went - I personally love to hear that she talks, but more than that love to hear when she makes it outside...there is nothing quite like feeling the warm sunshine or the wind blowing - the small things we take for granted that I'm sure Lori misses so very much and can't wait to feel at her own will - soon. She has so many hurdles still to achieve that we all constantly overlook daily - like tasting her food again...her own bed...not listening to doctors constantly assessing her - just little things that I hope she finds soon in her life and that she too will take for granted because she is so lucky to be able to easily forget these long weeks. Your feats are admirable Sneeds - your incessant love and beautiful open arms make each fan of Lori's feel such a part of her life and make us feel that our teeny prayers, hopes, and well wishes make all the difference in the world. Thank you so much for being an inspiration to all of us, in spite of the difficult circumstances which we admire you. Just think....next Mother's and Father's Day you may only get a card...and how FANTASTIC it will be to know that life is nice, normal, and complete again....I wish normalcy for all of you soon, but not too soon - because set backs are no fun and slow and steady advancements will be sweet success! Take care of you all! Know you are thought of, admired, loved from a far from so many. Your daughter/sister is a massive inspiration to all of us - and you guys are not doing such a bad job with being way up on that list either! Hang tough - keep her smiling and thank you, thank you, thank you - deedee in colorado
