NEWS from LORI

HELLO!! This is LORI. I have been lucky to have so many people checking on me with this blog. thank you!!! I understand if you've stopped checking the blog at this point (although if you've stopped, you won't be reading this!) :) As for the rest of you, here's the latest :-)

i have been eating, eating, eating.....and painting.

i celebrated my birthday this past weekend with a few people....it was my FIRST NIGHT OUT!!!! Since this year has been a blur, i've decided to turn 33 again!

i have BIG news. are you ready for this? i'm adopting!!!!! Currently, he is with the foster parent, but next week, the adoption will take place. OK OK it's not a baby, it's a kitten, buuut i'm still very excited!!!

On a more serious note, i'm in need of the powerful prayers you have provided in the past. this week, i had some tests done by a neuro-opthalmologist that showed that i have lost my peripheral vision on the right side of both eyes. if the vision does not improve, i will no longer be able to drive. even though that news has been difficult for me, i will be looking for the cutest and funniest chauffeur in Atlanta.

for the latest on my brother, johnny, who has done a "little" acting in the past, he will be on "my Name is Earl" on NBC Nov 9, and on "Sleeper Cell" on Showtime on Dec 15. Unfortunately, you won't be able to see "Alpha Mom", a pilot he shot for NBC. but i did get to see it, and he was funny and did a great job.

Hope all is well with ya'll

LOVE

lori

Lori,
For some reason I am having trouble making this go through. You may get this twice.
So glad to hear from you again and Happy Birthday a little late.
The adoption sounds good, and believe me those pets can be just like our kids.(Just ask Molly our puppy-she doesn't know she is a dog, she is rotten)
Our prayers are always with you but we will say even more this week. You always make the best out of everything. (If it has to be a chauffeur make him a Johnny type.)
Thanks for the news on Johnny too, we will be watching.
Know that love and Prayers are coming your way.

Hi Lori - I was so happy to see a post from you. You sound like you're getting better and better. I just want to tell you I've been praying for you and thinking of you every day. I will certainly pray about your vision, because the ability to drive is so crucial to feeling independent. I would just hate not being able to come and go as I please. Also, I'm happy to hear you are 'adopting'- I have 'adopted' two little guys and they are so funny and keep me laughing (plus...I talk to them about all my problems :-) I didn't know you are an artist- I am,too. I work in colored pencil, a much misaligned medium. Take care- Deb
Lori- do you remember me from Shepherd-June 2003???

Hi Lori,
I have never stopped checking your blog - I check it everyday and have been missing hearing all about you. I am so happy that you are doing so well and that you were able to go out for your birthday- what a treat! I will continue to keep you in my prayers and trust that you will continue to improve! I don't watch much TV but I will try and remember to look for Johnny in Nov. - I 'll have to go and write it on my calendar. Give your family my love!

Hey Girl! You are still in our prayers daily. I f I decide to retire, could I be your driver? I'm not cute or funny but I play piano. I don't spill as much as I used to -- your piano at home is still damp not from storm but from beer -- now I just drool occasionally. SSSOOOOO glad you're back, Lori!
Love,
Bennett

It really brought a smile to our faces to see you post. Everyone in Gulfport has been praying for you. We knew you would do it, never had a doubt. You are in inspiration to us all. Can't wait to see Johnny on "My Name is Earl", that's the funniest show on TV. Thanks for the info. Johnny needs a blog so we can keep up with him. We also need to get your Dad on a show, he would be a hit too. Anyway hello from the Hollemans in Gulfport. :)

Thank you so much for the new message. I had received updates from Uncle Robert and mama talking to you and Patti but better to hear from you directly. I think you should start previewing drivers just for the entertainment value even if you don't have to hire one! Also appreciate the Johnny note. We check everyday and you know you are always in our prayers. Hope your night out was just the first of many! Myra

Your optimism never ceases to amaze me. Obviously, you'll have my prayers and I'll pass things along to others who came to know of you during your time at Shepherd. I haven't been checking the blog as much lately, but I was actually thinking about you today abnd then my mother told my there was a new post. Pretty neat how that works sometimes. I'll definitely be watch for Johnny and look forward to the showing of your art collection. ;) Take care and enjoy your new "child."

Lori, It's great to know you are out and about!!! Glad you could really celebrate your birthday;"33" sounds like a good age.

A new kitten for you will be ust purr-fect!!! Is it a boy or girl? What is the namd???

We're excited to know when Johnny will be on TV. I know he stays busy, but we usualy don't get to see his work. Can't wait!!!

We'll pray for improvement with your eyes! A cute funny chauffer sounds interesting, too. Maybe you could find one while you are getting physically stronger.

Have a great week. The Gewins
