i'm in SHOCK!!

yesterday, i had the extensive and thorough 3 hour driver evaluation, that included 4 different types of tests...................I PASSED ALL OF THEM!! not only did i pass, but i only missed one thing! the extremely knowledgable evaluator was suprised by that... mom and i were, too!

mom said that she was unable to answer, find, pick out or recognize all of the symbols or questions thrown out at me. she couldn't get over how sharp my senses seemed to be. i think that i owe it to all of your prayers and positive vibes that you gave me (even though johnny thought the test was today, instead of yesterday, i did'nt give him TOO hard of a time...since he has sent plenty of positive vibes over the past year!) :)

as for the visual field test, like in the DMV test, i scored the exact minimum number that is needed to pass. Whheew!
don't worry...you don't need to stay off the road yet! it will be a few weeks before i practice in safe areas and have my actual driving test, that the evaluator thinks i will have no problem with it.

even though i am still needing a lot of rest, i can't tell you how excited i am for crossing this important obstacle!!!
as always...i can't thank you enough for all of you support.
i hope all is well with you...i'll touch base sometime soon.
love, lori

Congratulations Lori! I'm so proud of you. I can't tell you how often I think of you and pray for you. I'm constantly telling my friends or strangers about you for one reason or another. Usually to tell them that yes, they can do anything and here's why. I think people should feel more safe with you on the road than with me as I failed the eye exam after taking it about 10 times. However, she still gave me my license and said get glasses! I don't know if you know this but I'm back in Nashville so I will have to make a trip down to Atlanta some time this spring to see you. Again, I am so glad that you are doing better and now this news of driving. Will keep in touch.
You're in my prayers
Rebecca

Lori,
Praise the Lord!! We are so happy for you and proud too.
Don't worry about still needing alot of rest, you have been through so much in this past year and your strength will come back a little at a time. You are doing so much better than any of us thought you would be doing by now and we a so thankful for that.
Love,
Jan and Walter

Dear Lori,
I'm one of the slackers that hadn't been checking your blog for awhile, but Lauren emailed today and told us you had good news and I'm back on. It is SOOOOO good to hear YOUR voice coming through the emails. I'm so happy for you that the driver's eval is looking good. You know that you're as well known as your actor brother....just last week I met someone who knew of you. I was chaperoning Benji's field trip to a Japanese restaurant and overheard two of the other moms talking about commuting back and forth to Atlanta for work. One said she worked at Shepard Spinal Center, so I had to chime in that I had a friend who had spent alot of time there. She asked who and when I said Lori Sneed she said that she knew (or knew of?) you...her name is Dana Kobler. Well, it's past bedtime and the munchkins are getting restless so I'd better go. I'm sending all my positive vibes your way!!!! Love, Katherine Thames

It's not your eye sight that concerns me with you driving - it's the channel surfing and loud singing!!! You go Sneedles! love, jackie

Excellent!! Back on the roads. There is nothing better than getting out there and being able to drive when and where you want to restore your independence. I'm proud of you and glad that everything is coming back to normal. Take care Lori.

Lori, Your mom told me about you passing your driving test. It is amazing and certainly another miracle to add to those you have already been afforded. The only thing negative is, how will you justify that cute, funny chauffeur (no dictionary to correct spelling)? It will be great for you to run errands, work, etc. I don't know if you were aware that I have been having some problems with my sight, also. I didn't drive for 3 wks., so can certainly sympathise with your frustration. However, if I were afforded a cute, funny chauffeur, I might just take the opportunity!!!
It is good for your mom to be home a couple of weeks. Jeannie and I hope to have lunch with her tomorrow. Take care and keep us posted. Much love, The Gewins Please excuse the spelling and typing. I am in the dark with Joe and Beau snoring. Don't want to disturb them.

Lori! It's so great to see that you'll be hittin' 75/85 in no time flat. (I've called the OMNI to make the parking deck wider!) Glad to see you're on the mend. Still sending the prayers your way from the other side of the world (at this writing I'm in Muscat, Oman...)
All the best to you, the folks and the Moovy Starr brother of yours!
