At Home with Lori

sorry, we weren't able to post this the other day.

She's recovering at home and enjoying seeing her friends. she's trying to get into a new routine, and continuing her artistic pursuits. Johnny was in Atlanta this past weekend. (there will be a brother/sister musical collaboration in the future)

I AM BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't thank you enough for all of your support. The cards, emails, gifts, prayers, hospital visits, etc., kept me going. I can't wait to see all of you in person to give you a HUG!

I am so happy to be home... things are going well. I am resting, EATING everything especially PIZZA, catching up on TIVO, and painting.

Since my website has gotten more popular than Johnny's website (ha..ha..) I guess I should pass on the latest scoop on him so he won't feel left out:) Next week he is taping an episode of "My Name is Earl". He will be the co-star of Earl...will let you know when it will be aired.

I hope all of you are doing well. I will check in with you soon!!

Lori at Home

Lori is so glad to be home. Doctors have ordered her to rest, so she's been sleeping in. Tuesday, she had her first shower since April!! Waiting on a new shower chair that should make that easier for her. Several friends have visited her to drink wine and eat pizza..

She's continuing the therapy started at Shepherd. She's trying to regain some of the strength in her arms and hands. Seems to take all day just to do the "basic" things she needs to do. Still treating the sores (which includes having to turn from one side to the other every 2 hours throuhout the night).

Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers, calls, cards, visits, and support. It has meant so much to us.

Discharge Date!!

Can you believe it?? After 146 days in the hospital, LORI is going to check out and go home this week!!

Doctors think she is strong enough, and for that, we're very thankful. Her rehab is just beginning, however. She must eat extra calories to gain weight and extra protein to help heal the sacral sore. She must do physical therapy to benefit her arms and to eventually straighten her legs which have been bent for so long. She must build up her skin tolerance to be able to sit in her chair. And finally, she must build up her stamina.

So, with a checklist in hand, we'll begin another chapter. stay with us, and we'll keep you posted.

P.S. The home office of "Fans-R-Us" was damaged during Katrina, so there have been no emails. But as a reminder, Johnny will be on the Fox show, "HOUSE", on Sept 12.
